We’ve all seen the before and after pictures of celebrities who go on crash diets for a month to drop weight.
But can you really lose that much weight in 30 days?
It’s not an easy answer and it depends on your starting point and how much weight you need to lose.
If you are eating healthy, exercising regularly, and have around 30 pounds or less to go then yes, you will probably be able to lose the weight in a month!
But for those with more than 30 pounds at their goal weight (or who don’t want to exercise), it may take longer than just 1 month.
Here are our tips for your first month of dieting!
- First, you should buy an accurate scale. One that measures body fat percentage would be even better!
- Secondly, start recording what you eat by using a food diary, or an app like My Fitness Pal. It will help keep you accountable and aware of your progress throughout the month!
- Thirdly, pick a workout routine that involves both cardiovascular training and strength training. This will help you lose weight in a healthy way while toning your muscles.
- Fourthly, start timing when you eat so you can see how long it takes to break the fast in your body each day—this is important when losing weight!
- Fifthly, get enough sleep–at least 7 hours a night.
- Sixthly, make sure to supplement! It can be tough to get all the nutrients you need from your diet, so add vitamins and protein shakes into your daily routine.
- Seventhly, if you really want to lose weight fast then cut out sugar and carbs from your diet. This means you will need to give up things like pasta, bread, and cake. If you can’t cut sugar and carbs completely then don’t, just eat them in moderation.
- Finally! be patient—eating healthy takes time to show results. Even if you are following all of these steps, it may take weeks for the weight to start falling off!

There are some things to keep in mind when losing weight fast
Eat small meals throughout the day and drink lots of water; don’t skip breakfast or have a light dinner.
Eat foods high in fiber to help you feel full longer—the body needs lots of healthy fibers to function properly.
Try to eat more fruits and veggies, whole grains, and lean meats like chicken, fish, and turkey.
Don’t count calories; instead, focus on eating healthy!
Take pictures and measurements so you can track your progress.
Remember, losing weight fast is not healthy–set a goal amount of time to achieve your weight loss and stick with it!
So if you know how much time you have until the next occasion: Graduation? Summer? Wedding? Just be sure to allow yourself enough time to lose the weight.
It’s important to live your life and take time on yourself while still on your diet, so cut yourself some slack if you don’t hit every goal to the tee!
