My name is Adam, and I have temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome.

This article is about how I cure my TMJ naturally.

I had extreme pain for over eight years, which eventually led to me being unable to eat solid foods without experiencing serious jaw pain first.

I was forced to strictly drink a diet of smoothies or soup as the only way for me to get any relief from my condition.

It’s been written that up to 25% of the population suffers from some sort of TMJ disorder, so I thought I’d share this method with you if it’s beneficial.

What Exactly Is Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Syndrome?

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is located in your head, just in front of your ears.

The TMJ is the joint where the jaw hinges with the skull, and it’s most often associated with pain and clicking that results from a dysfunction/misalignment of this particular joint.

Getting adequate treatment for acute and chronic TMJ is important, but it can be difficult to diagnose as it mimics many other conditions. It could get missed by doctors or misdiagnosed as another condition causing pain to occur in different areas of the head such as migraines, tension headaches, toothaches, earaches, etc.

Even general practitioners are not adequately trained about how to treat TMJ problems because they’re rarely diagnosed correctly and written information on the treatments being used today is very hard to come by.

If you’re struggling with TMJ, I’m offering a natural remedy that is, in my experience, more effective than anything else.

I now have no more pain since correcting my own TMJ. It will be a little different for everyone, but generally, the procedure is consistently followed, and it has been shown to help many people suffering like myself in the past.

When I finally found a cure after years of suffering, I felt compelled to share this method with other sufferers as it’s extremely easy and it works.

It’s important that if you are going to try this out that you follow each step exactly as I explain because slight adjustments can make or break the treatment being successful for you.

I hope you find value from this information as much as I did when I was searching for a cure..

Natural TMJ Solution or Remedies:

Eat Soft Foods

While I was suffering, I noticed that the pain would ease off somewhat if I ate softer food like ice cream instead of hard foods like nuts or seeds.

It wasn’t a hugely noticeable difference, but it did reduce some of my discomforts and made eating much easier than having to constantly chew on tough/hard foods without any pain reduction.

The act of chewing up tough foods like nuts can be pretty stressful for TMJs because it’s such a rough action that ultimately puts a lot of unnecessary pressure onto joints and muscles.

I found that soft foods were also surprisingly helpful in reducing joint pain from other places as well so it’s worth experimenting with different types of food inside your mouth.

You may find out that certain types of food give better results than others for your particular condition.

TIP: Pay attention to foods that cause stronger discomforts and avoid them as much as possible; it will give you a better chance of finding something that helps more than the others.

Soothe Your Jaw Muscles With Ice At Least 2 Times A Day

This one is a no-brainer, but I’ll explain why it’s so important anyway.

I believe that massage therapy and stretching exercises can cause serious damage if your muscles aren’t warmed up first because they’re used in different ways compared to what you’re normally doing when you wake up in the morning.

So if you use any kind of massaging motion on joints without warming things up, then it’s not surprising that some people experience discomfort afterward!

It was like my own body was saying no pain, no gain when it came to massaging muscles within the joint and stretching them.

I found that ice reduced some of my aches in the jaw area while I was still trying to find out how to cure TMJ, so ice packs were a great way of soothing pain for me at first, and they helped reduce inflammation a lot.

If you want natural ways of reducing swelling around your joints, then ice is an excellent choice because, unlike heat, the cold helps minimize blood flow, making more room for swollen areas.

When you apply ice directly onto the skin, it’s going to feel quite uncomfortable, but this will only last about 20 seconds or less before feeling completely numb or non-existent.

The main goal here is to reduce inflammation, so less pain is a good thing!

TIP: Don’t apply ice directly on your skin; wrap it inside of cloth first, so you’re not using too much pressure…

Rubbing ice directly onto the skin can be quite harsh, and this method will lessen that effect somewhat.

If you’re feeling brave enough, then try rubbing the outside of an ice pack directly onto your skin and see if there’s any difference between this method and wrapping up the ice in cloth.

If You Can, Exercise Moderately For 5-10 Minutes Every Day 7 Days A Week.

While I was trying to find out how to cure TMJ myself, I found that exercising helped me reduce my joint pain.

I think a moderate exercise like jogging or brisk walking helps people with TMJ because it warms up muscles and joints slowly and smoothly, which takes away the potential for discomfort during stretching.

Exercise is meant to be harsh, in my opinion, so if you do any kind of workout, then it’s going to cause some stress to your muscles.

Just try not to do anything too vigorous like heavy weight lifting, it’s not bad for you, but I think that excessive muscle tension isn’t good either.

I don’t know exactly why moderate exercising can help ease joint pain, but I assume it’s got something to do with stimulation or maybe even blood circulation (i never read about this myself).

In any case, I believe it makes a huge difference in reducing aches and increasing overall noise levels.

Do Stretching Exercises At Least Twice A Day For 2 Minutes Each Time

Stretching exercises are quite important in how to cure TMJ because it makes room for larger gaps between teeth which helps remove pressure from the jaw joint.

Some basic stretching movements include pulling your lips apart gently as far as possible, opening your mouth slowly, and pushing it back together while feeling tension around the side of your mouth (if you’re able to), etc.

General good posture, including standing with head held high, helps relieve stress off joints, so it’s worth trying out ways to improve posture if you can.

TMJ Solution Using Herbs And Vitamins

The following herbs are commonly used in TMJ remedies and will help reduce inflammation, pain, and how to cure TMJ naturally.

Turmeric:  This anti-inflammatory herb helps to reduce pain and swelling. You can take it as a supplement in pill or tincture form, or add it to food.

You can either mix turmeric with milk and drink it on an empty stomach, or you can take the capsules (500mg) three times daily. Curcumin is the main ingredient in turmeric that provides most of its benefits.

Curcumin is absorbed quite well into body fluids, even if you drink alcohol 1-2hrs beforehand…

Boswellia Serrata: This herb reduces pain and inflammation by inhibiting the COX-2 enzymes which produce inflammatory prostaglandins.

This substance doesn’t interfere with PGE2 production, so it can be taken with Ibuprofen.

The recommended dose of Boswellia is 100mg three times daily.

Ginger: This herb is a potent anti-inflammatory agent that provides some analgesic effects as well.

Ginger can be taken as a ginger capsule or dried and added to food.

The dose of ginger is 100mg three times daily (before meals).

Fish Oil: This supplement contains omega-3 fatty acids which can reduce inflammation.

Studies show that fish oil doesn’t reduce pain levels, but it does help control jaw movement during sleep and improve overall symptoms.

How To Cure TMJ Naturally By Massaging Your Jaw Joints

If you’re looking for a more targeted massage, then using a lacrosse ball can do wonders. Simply apply pressure to the ball and roll it around on the affected areas. You can also use a tennis ball or golf ball if you don’t have a lacrosse ball.

Gently Massage The Muscles Around Your Jaw.

Make circular motions with your fingers around the jaw muscles and temples. This will help to relax the muscles and relieve tension.

How To Cure TMJ Naturally Using Ice Or Heat

Heat can be very soothing at times when you have aches or pains in your joints, but ice provides a lot better pain relief by numbing the area.

I think that applying ice directly onto your skin is more effective than wrapping it up in cloth because it cools things down a lot faster and makes its effects last longer.

Don’t overuse heat, though, because if used excessively, then it will cause dehydration, so use enough for you to feel relaxed.

I use to heat a lot more than ice, so that’s why it comes second on this list.

If you don’t have enough time or money for exercises and therapies, my advice would be to do what you can whenever you can throughout the day (don’t wait for problems to happen before acting).
