I have been teaching for a decade and I can tell you this: it is hard work. There are days where we stay up all night grading papers and planning lessons, and there are days when we spend hours in meetings with administrators or parents.

It’s tough to balance the needs of the students with those of their families, not to mention our own personal needs.

And yet every day we wake up ready to do what we love because our passion is teaching children how to read, write, think critically about the society around them, and grow into well-rounded adults who know that they need education in order to succeed in life.

In this article, I’ll tell you how to praise a teacher in words.

How To Praise A Teacher In Words

I appreciate everything you do for my child

Teachers know that when we go home at the end of the day, we hope and pray that we’ve done right by our students and their families: in short, that we’ve worked hard to help them grow academically and socially.

But in reality, it’s impossible for every student to excel every day, even if all of the stars have aligned for them at home.

Teachers are human beings who aren’t perfect, and sometimes our best efforts just aren’t enough to help a child succeed.

But when you tell us that you’re grateful for everything we’ve done for your child, it means so much to us to know that we’re giving your child the tools he or she needs to learn and grow.

When we hear these kinds of words from our students’ parents, we feel very happy and excited because we know that they trust in our abilities as educators and accept responsibility for their children’s academic development.

How To Say “Thank You”

Sometimes we are confused about how to say thank you in words because it’s hard to find the right combination of simple and sincere without feeling awkward or disingenuous.

But when parents tell us that they’re grateful for everything we’ve done for their child, it makes our day—even if they only say it once a year.

In fact, one of the best things you can do as a parent is to tell your child to thank their teacher every now and again because those words go such a long way towards building strong relationships and fostering mutual trust and respect between our two groups.

We couldn’t do what we do without you

Parents often thank their child’s teacher because they know that it takes several people to ensure that our children have the support and resources they need to learn.

It’s important for us, as teachers, to know how much you value our role in your children’s lives, and how grateful you are for our contribution to their academic development.

How to say Thank You To teacher If You Are Student

If you are a student and you want to thank your teacher, you can say something like this:

“Thank you for making us do all that work!” or “Thank you for teaching me how to solve that math problem.”

“I appreciate all that you do for me.”

“Thank you so much for helping me with this project. I really couldn’t have done it without your guidance!”

“Thank you for teaching me about this topic. I really enjoyed that lecture and your lesson plan was very helpful.”

“Thank you for taking the time to teach us about this!”

“Thank you so much for taking care of our class during all those snow days. I like school but it was nice to be home too.”

“I love your teaching style and how engaged you make us during every lesson. Thanks for being such a great teacher!”

“Thank you for doing this project with us. I really appreciate your help.”

“It’s nice having you as my teacher!”

“I’m glad that you’re my teacher.”

“Thanks for all of your help!”

“Thank you for all of your time and effort in the classroom. It really does make a difference! I appreciate how hard you work to make sure that we’re successful.”

“I like how passionate you are about teaching us new things. Thanks for always doing everything in your power to ensure our success!”

“Thank you for always working so hard to make sure that we have everything we need in the classroom. You do an amazing job!”

“I can’t thank you enough for all of your help this year.”

“I appreciate how much time and effort you put into teaching us about this topic. That lecture was really helpful.”

“Thank you for taking the time to make this project happen. I really appreciate it!”

“I really like your teaching style and how engaged you make us during class.”

“Thanks for always making sure we have everything we need in class and for being such a fun person to learn with every day!”

“You’re very dedicated to what you do and it’s nice that you’re passionate about it.”

“You do such a great job. Thanks for all of your hard work!”

“I’m glad I have you as my teacher.”

“Thank you so much for everything this year! You always go above and beyond what’s required of you.”

It’s important to note that teachers love when students thank them in words. It’s always nice when someone acknowledges what we do for them, even if it’s something small like smiling in the hallway.

On the other hand, praise via social media is not the most ideal way to go. Teachers are not always completely, 100% on their phones or social media pages.

If you would like to say something to your child’s teacher via social media, it is best if you tag them and ask the teacher first.

“Thank you for everything this year! You always go above and beyond what’s required of you.”

Finally, take note that there’s a difference between saying “thank you” and showing gratitude.

Whether it’s a teacher, parent, family member, friend, co-worker, or boss, saying thank you can make a huge difference in a person’s life. It builds up morale and shows someone that they are making a difference.

To all of you amazing teachers out there, thank you again for all that you do!
