The world has descended into a pandemic of fear and panic. We are all in the same boat, but what can we do to keep our heads on?

Some may people think that this disease is not a big deal and it’s easy to stay positive. However, the virus has been wreaking havoc in many cities around the world.

With so much information about the virus circulating on social media, blogs, and news outlets- how do you know what’s true?

In this blog post, I will share some tips that might help you feel better about your day-to-day life during the Coronavirus lockdown.

How To Stay Positive During Lockdown

1. Don’t go outside.

It’s important to stay safe, so don’t leave your home if you are feeling sick or have flu-like symptoms.

The best way to avoid getting infected is to stay away from other people- even if they seem healthy.

2. Try not to watch the news.

The coronavirus is spreading quickly across diverse cities in several countries around the world, making it hard for people to stay informed.

Traditionally, the news media has been one of the most credible sources of information about what is happening in society and around the world.

However, with so many people dying due to Coronavirus, updates regarding this virus are everywhere- on social networking sites, blogs, television channels, etc. It would be hard for you to avoid constant updates about the pandemic.

That’s why many people are feeling overwhelmed and more stressed out than ever before!

Try to take a break from watching or reading news channels and simply stay close to your family- they will bring you more good things than the media will ever say about Coronavirus.

3. Do not trust what you hear on social media.

Remember that the news is only one perspective of what is happening in society. Because of this, sometimes journalists have to deal with censorship when it comes to reporting certain stories.

You may have seen videos or photos related to Coronavirus posted by friends on your personal social media accounts.

However, it’s important to understand that not everyone is being honest about what they have seen or experienced during a lockdown. Most likely, the person showing you the video or photo doesn’t even take a photo themselves- they re-post something they saw on a different social media platform.

This can be very misleading and might contribute to the overall panic that people have about the virus.

4. Get enough sleep and eat well.

The mind is one of our most important assets, so it’s important to take care of your body- even during times like this when you might be stressed out more than usual.

Getting enough sleep at night (7-8 hours) and eating several times a day should help you stay positive. Do not forget to eat fruits and veggies- they are great for your immune system.

Try to cook several nutritious meals ahead of time- such as soups, stews, and pasta dishes. Canned food would also do the trick!

5. Remind yourself that you are stronger than the virus.

You may get discouraged when reading news about how this deadly virus is spreading around the world and killing people of all ages, but it’s important to remember that you can overcome Coronavirus and stay strong.

You might get Coronavirus, but if you keep your immune system strong- there is a high chance of you fighting off the virus and being just fine.

6. Get creative.

If you are feeling stressed out or anxious about the pandemic, try to relieve some of that stress by engaging in an activity that makes you happy.

For example, do a puzzle with your family members, paint a picture, bake bread from scratch, take a walk outdoors and breathe in the fresh air- anything that helps you to relax and feel good again.

7. Remember that this lockdown will not last forever.

Even if you are feeling overwhelmed by the pandemic, understand that it’s only a matter of time before everything goes back to normal and we can resume our lives as usual!

8. Talk to loved ones about how you’re feeling.

It’s important that you don’t shut yourself in your room and deal with Coronavirus all by yourself.

Reach out to family members or friends who will understand what you are going through- they can even help you think of great coping mechanisms like the ones mentioned above!

9. Find a distraction.

During the pandemic, it may be easy for you to feel overwhelmed and stressed out about what is happening in society and around the world.

Make sure that you take the time to re-charge your batteries by watching something lighthearted like a simple sitcom or romantic comedy on TV! If you don’t feel like watching anything, you can always go out for a walk or meet up with your closest friends and family members.

10. Be grateful for what you have.

It’s easy to take the things that we have for granted when times are good. However, during Coronavirus lockdown it is especially important to remember all of the positive things in your life- such as family members, friends, pets, and much more!

Simply having someone who loves and cares about you can make a world of difference in how you cope with Coronavirus.

Remember that there are blessings in every day, even when the situation may not always seem like it at first.

11. Get outside and soak up the sun.

Many of us will be staying inside for a few months during the Coronavirus lockdown, but it’s important to remember that going outside can actually boost your mood!

If you have a backyard or a terrace, go out there and take a look at the sky- taking some deep breaths in the fresh air can help you feel re-energized!

12. Take care of your mind and body.

You should start exercising regularly during Coronavirus lockdown. If you want to keep both your body and mind in good condition, it’s important to get at least 20 minutes of exercise each day.

If you don’t have the time or energy for a workout routine, try to take a brisk walk. Even a short walk around the block can help improve your mood and make you feel refreshed!

13. Practice good hygiene.

Staying active and exercising regularly should help you feel like yourself again, but it’s also important to practice good hygiene during the Coronavirus lockdown.

Make sure that you wash your hands often, change your clothes if they get dirty, and take a shower regularly.

14. Meditate or do yoga.

During Coronavirus lockdown, it can be helpful to take some time for yourself and reflect on your life.

Sitting down in a quiet place and meditating or doing yoga can help you better understand how you’re feeling as well as what is going on around you.

15. Read uplifting books.

Try picking up a good book during Coronavirus lockdown, or better yet- try writing your own novel!

Writing down all of your thoughts and feelings can be incredibly therapeutic, not to mention that it’s also an amazing way to express yourself creatively.

16. Remember that the end is near.

Remember that Coronavirus lockdown will not last forever.

Even if you feel like this is the worst time of your life, understand that it’s only temporary so try to hang in there!

17. Stay positive and look on the bright side.

If you are good at blocking out all negative influences during Coronavirus lockdown, then great!

However, try not to get too caught up in the negativity that you don’t allow yourself to enjoy life.

18. Reach out for help if you need it.

It’s important to take care of your mental health during Coronavirus lockdown, so if you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out it is okay to ask for help.

It might be difficult to talk about the pandemic, but there are plenty of resources and people who can help you get through your struggles.

19. Try to take a step back and think about what’s most important in life.

During Coronavirus lockdown, try not to sweat the small stuff.

Even though it might seem like the end of the world, take some time to relax and reflect on what you’ve learned during this experience.

20. Find new ways to cope with stress.

Everyone will react differently to the pandemic, but it’s a good idea to find a healthy way to channel your negative energies during Coronavirus lockdown.

Perhaps you might enjoy art or music- whatever helps make you feel better!
