Then, lift up towards the ceiling by raising the shoulders up off the mat while keeping the feet flat on the floor.
• Side Bends – Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Extend both arms out to the side of your body with your palms down, then bend at the waist to one side until you feel a stretch in your abdomen. Hold this position for about 30 seconds and then return to the starting position. Repeat this for about 20 reps on each side.
Why are crunches not enough?
First of all, avoid doing hundreds of crunches every day because you can actually injure your back by doing so. Crunches only work the exterior muscles of the stomach, but mainly involve the hip flexors and the lower abdominal muscles. However, if you don’t work the upper and middle abdominals, then you will never get a flat stomach because those upper and middle muscles conceal the lower muscles.
How often should I do these exercises?
You should perform each of these exercises about three times per week to achieve best results. Do them as part of your ab workout or on your off days from your strength training routine. Don’t forget to include aerobic sports such as running and rowing, too.

To burn belly fat, do more cardio exercise than usual and eat about 500 fewer calories than you would normally eat daily. You should also avoid drinking alcohol and sugary drinks, which may prevent you from slimming down.
