There are lots of festivals in Okinawa throughout the year. One of the most popular Okinawan festivals is the Naha Kunchi festival that’s held every year during mid-October. This festival has been recognized as an Important Intangible Cultural Property by the Japanese government and it’s a great way to experience the Okinawan culture!

Naha Kunchi is famous for its street parades with people dressed in traditional Okinawan garb. This festival usually lasts 3 days and it’s a great way to meet people from the area!
